Ero Oyaji – “Dirty Old Man”
Literal Translation: “Dirty Old Man” (Ero = “Nasty/Obscene”;
Oyaji = “old man”)
Overview: There is a little “dirty old man” in all of us. You
could always buy this shirt for your uncle and tell him it means: “I
am a stud”.
Details/Background: “Ero” is derived from the word “eroticism”,
and is used in many cases to mean “dirty”, “nasty” or “obsene”. “Ero-hon” for
example means an obscene (erotic) book or magazine.
“
Oyaji” is a common slang-like term for ‘older man’. It is not
necessarily a compliment to be called an ‘oyaji’ – girls who
are repulsed by older “scummy looking” men will call them an “oyaji” in
a derogatory fashion. At the same time, the word Oyaji is used to refer to one’s
own father in an informal way (especially by men) – similar to saying in
English: “my old man”.
Design Notes: Designed with an older “Edo” style
font to give the shirt a sort of gutter-like feel.
